Judaism welcomes converts to Judaism, if they seek to convert of their own free will. This indicates that anybody of any ethnicity is welcome to become a Jew, and there is no ethnic requirement to do so. Judaism is associated with a particular ethnicity and did not become a universalist religion seeking adherents around the world in different cultures, so has more ethnic cohesion but it is not a tenet of the religion itself to be uni-ethnic. It is Walsh’s obligation to be correct about these matters.
